Why Live in Los Angeles?

Why make your home in LA? The reasons are many, varied and very persuasive. No wonder over 12 million Angelenos (LA residents) call the Los Angeles area home. In case you’re on the fence trying to decide whether to move to this vast California metropolis, here are a few reasons that might convince you to take the plunge.

Weather: Los Angeles boasts a mild Mediterranean climate, averaging 263 days of sunshine annually with only 35 days of precipitation. You’ll be comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt for most of the year!

The Beach: With all that beautiful weather, one of the most fun activities for Angelenos is heading to the beach for sun, swimming, surfing, and people-watching. Some of the most popular beaches in LA are Topanga Beach in Malibu, Santa Monica Beach, Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. So if you feel like living near a beach, there are plenty to choose from

Arts & Entertainment: LA offers a vast array of artistic institutions and entertainment venues, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Kodak Theatre, Getty Center, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Bowl, plus hundreds of nightclubs and smaller performance spaces.

Glamour: As the movie-making capital of America, Los Angeles is home to Hollywood studios and the actors, directors, and producers who make the magic happen. If you’ve got a taste for the glamorous life, LA is the place for you.

Economy: In addition to the entertainment industry for which it’s famous, Los Angeles is an important financial, industrial, and tourist center. The ports of LA and Long Beach are among the busiest in the word, and Los Angeles is the largest manufacturing center in the Western US. With its vibrant and growing economy, you’ll have a number of industries to choose from when looking for a job in the LA area.

LA the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association, the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League, and the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team. And with UCLA, USC and other colleges in the area, there’s plenty of NCAA athletic action to catch as well.

Education: If you’re considering relocating to the LA area for college, there are a number of institutions of higher learning for you to choose from.
